Dean Pack reflects on the past year and shares excitement for the future

In March 2023, student organizations Women in Computer Science (WiCS) and Society for Women Engineers (SWE) hosted a Women In Stem panel discussion to commemorate Women’s History Month. Students enjoyed a rousing conversation, with the panel sharing wisdom including insights on their areas of focus, career paths, workplace dynamics, and mentor relationships.

On March 30, 2023, one of Baylor's finest professors, Ken Van Treuren, Ph.D., delivered his 2022 Baylor University Cornelia Marschall Smith Professor of the Year lecture. Dr. Van Treuren shares his remarkable life journey that includes Oxford, Princeton, and the U.S. Air Force Academy before explaining his motivation for spending the last 24 years teaching and researching in Baylor's Mechanical Engineering Department.

For the third consecutive year, the Baylor Cybersecurity team advanced to Regionals in the Southwest Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (SWCCDC) after placing in the Top 8 at the Qualifier round on February 18. The first-place team from Regionals being held March 17 – 19 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, will advance to the National CCDC being held April 28-30.
